S-100

The S-100 comprises of two modem units, cables and manuals. Based on the AN1000 chip set, it is designed for systems that could utilise a permanent serial connection over the power-line. Offeriing standard serial data rates up to 115Kbps, the S-100 requires no additional software and can be used with all serial port applications. In essence the S-100 is a replacement for traditional serial cables as it turns the power-line into a virtual serial cable. This virtual serial cable can be up to 2Km long, any one side of a power transformers.

Multiple S-100's on the same network are permissable however, this will reduce the modem to modem data throughput as the power-line bandwidth will be shared between the two modems.
